Irish website, FatCheese.ie, announced that it has given cash back of over a quarter of a million euro to its members since the site started just over a year ago.  Membership of the site is free and those who shop online through FatCheese.ie get a percentage of their spending as cash back directly into their bank account, PayPal account or can donate it to charity, with no strings attached.

FatCheese.ie is home to over 900 of the most popular retail websites including ASOS.com, Hotels.com, eBookers, Nike, iTunes, Tesco, Apple and O2.  So if you click through to one of these retailer’s websites from FatCheese.ie, carry out a purchase, you will get a percentage of your spend back.  The site has grown to over 25,000 Irish members in the past year and it has over 20,000 visits per week.

The percentage is retailer dependant for example if you spend €100 on Hotels.com through FatCheese.ie you will get 10% or €10 cash back into your account whereas on ASOS.com the cash back is 7% so you would get €7 back into your account for a €100 spend.

The website was launched in 2009 with an initial investment of only €170.  The site even gives members cash back on hugely discounted deals like those through CityDeal.ie as Fatcheese.ie members will get another 10% cash back on these deals.  CityDeal.ie has been Fatcheese.ie’s top site for transactions over the past 12 months as consumers look for more ways to make savings.

Maya Kamourieh, Founder of FatCheese.ie, believes that anyone who shops online should be doing it through FatCheese.ie.  “As we have over 900 retailers it would be nearly impossible not to find what you are looking for online through FatCheese.ie and that way you get cash back by shopping through us.  If you are going to shop online anyway then why not do it through FatCheese.ie and get that money back that you wouldn’t get if you went directly to the retailers site with absolutely no strings attached.  So far we have given back over €250,000 to our members and as the site grows we expect this to grow and grow.  By the end of the year we hope to have given back €750,000 and have close to 50,000 members using the site regularly,” Kamourieh said.

FatCheese.ie also offers its members a rewards system for referring new members, so for every two members that you refer to the site and begin using it you will get €2 back from FatCheese.ie.
